Pasta Alla Vodka Sauce Bake

Pasta Alla Vodka Sauce Bake

Pasta Alla Vodka Sauce Bake. It’s cold outside and it’s Sunday. That means extra cozy pasta. Everyone loves vodka sauce but have you ever tried it as a pasta bake?! I’m talking extra cheesy, super creamy, a little herby, and well just delicious. Pairing this dish with a cocktail tonight because holiday vacations call for fun cocktails and comfort food ;) !!

Sunday’s are made for cozy pastas. Vodka sauce is basically everyone's favorite feel-good pasta. But now it’s time to bring it up a notch and do it as a pasta bake. This one is kind of addicting. I mean vodka sauce is addicting and delicious on it’s own. Super creamy, always decadent, and comforting for a cold winter night.

This pasta bake just enhances the traditional vodka sauce dish. Now it’s not only creamy and decadent, but it’s heavy on the mozzarella cheese, herby from the basil and oregano toppings, and now has 10x the comforting and cozy vibes as before. And we are totally feeling these vibes for the Sunday after Christmas!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter

  • 1 1/3 cup vodka

  • 4 cups marinara sauce

  • 16 ounces heavy cream

  • salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes

  • 1 pound short cut pasta

  • 12 ounces fresh mozzarella

  • fresh basil and fresh oregano for topping

Directions:

  1. In a large sauce pan, melt the butter. When sizzling, add the vodka. Ignite with a lighter. Cook until the alcohol burns off and flame subsides. Add the marinara sauce. Stir for a few minutes until bubbling. Add the heavy cream, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine. Simmer for 10 minutes. Set aside.

  2. Meanwhile cook the pasta in salted water and drain. Return pasta to the cooking pot. Add the vodka sauce and half the cheese. Stir until combined. Transfer to a large baking dish or cast iron skillet. Top with remaining cheese.

  3. Bake at 375 for 25 minutes. Top with chopped herbs and serve.
