Pasta Pomodoro
Growing up in an Italian house always meant pasta dinners on Sundays! Usually the pastas were paired with homemade meatballs or sausage and always a salad on the side. These meals were always super filling but had a comforting feeling. Sundays can sometimes be down day as Monday is right around the corner, but Italian Sunday dinners are always sure to put a smile on everyones face.
This pasta recipe is a perfect representation of what a typical Sunday dinner looks like! Pair it with a white or red wine whichever you prefer and there you have yourself an Italian Sunday dinner! Whether you are Italian or not, you will be sure to love Sunday dinner and this pasta recipe!
a. Ingredients:
Two 26.46 oz boxes of Pomi chopped tomatoes
1 medium yellow onion; chopped
6 tbsp of unsalted butter
Salt for taste
1 lb of dry spaghetti
Fresh basil leaves
b. Directions:
In a medium size sauce pan add the tomatoes, butter, and chopped onion; sprinkle with salt
Cook on high heat until bubbly, then reduce heat to low and cook 30 additional minutes
Remove the onion pieces from the sauce
Cook spaghetti according to package directions
Pour the cooked sauce over pasta and garish with basil leaves
