Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos with Fried Avocado

Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos with Fried Avocado

Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos with Fried Avocado. Battered shrimp in a sweet chili bang bang sauce with panko and sesame fried avocados. There’s nothing not to love about bang bang shrimp…so bang bang shrimp in taco form?! Even better. Saucy, sweet, spicy, delicious. Happy taco Tuesday…don’t forget a marg ;))

It has been SO long since we have last made tacos. And I mean sooo long. We kicked off the new year with them and now it’s been practically 2 months. But what better way the bring them back than on taco Tuesday ?! And with a fun and unique bang bang shrimp taco.

I have been super into the bang bang sauce lately. Almost every weekend I have been doing an appetizer bang bang style. Bang bang salmon, bang bang shrimp…I don’t know what’s going to be next but I am kind of addicted. And I love that there are different variations to the bang bang sauces. I have pretty much used a different recipe every time i’ve made a bang bang inspired dish recently.

These tacos are no different. This is a new, fun, and delicious bang bang sauce to coat these perfectly battered shrimp. Paired with panko and sesame fried avocados. On a charred tortilla and paired with shredded lettuce. But the sauce is where it's at on this one. And you can bet I loaded mine up with tons of sauce. BIIIIG sauce girl here.

And speaking of taco tuesday…this weekend is another beach weekend…and I am kind of feeling margs. I haven’t made margs since our last taco night, and well you guys know they are my summer go to. And I think it’s just about time I bring them back ;)) cheers !!

Ingredients

For the Tacos

  • 1 pound shrimp; peeled & deveined

  • 1/2 cup flour

  • salt and pepper

  • 2 avocados; sliced

  • 2 eggs; beaten

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

  • 6 tablespoons mixed sesame seeds

  • 4 tablespoons olive oil

  • corn tortillas; charred

  • shredded cabbage for serving

For the Bang Bang Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 1/3 cup sweet chili sauce

  • 3 teaspoons hot sauce

  • 1 lime; zested & halved

  • salt

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, salt, and pepper. Dredge the shrimp through the flour mixture to coat and set aside.

  2. Combine the panko and sesame seeds in a bowl. In a separate bowl, add the eggs. Toss the avocado slices with lime juice. Season the avocado with salt, dip in the egg, and dredge through the panko crumbs.

  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet. Add the avocado and cook until golden on each side. Remove from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the shrimp and sear on both sides for about 3 - 4 minutes. Remove from the heat.

  4. Make the bang bang sauce. In a small bowl, add the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, hot sauce, and lime zest. Stir to combine. Season with salt.

  5. Assemble the tacos. Toss the shrimp with the bang bang sauce. Layer the tortillas with shredded cabbage, bang bang shrimp, and fried avocado. Drizzle with additional sauce and serve.
